Works for me
"I bought a DAC1 that had been neglected and needed a little TLC, so after playing Waterfalls and Scrubs a few times, I got to work restoring it. The faceplate cleaned up super nice just with Barkeeper's Friend and Fitz polish. Same with the knob, I thought there was too much gunk in the knurling and I'd need a new one, but I put it in my ultrasonic cleanser for 10 minutes and it came out good-as-new. Then I replaced the top case. I used an appropriately sized handheld screwdriver and I am competent with using tools so I was able to remove them and put them back without any problems. It's awesome that Benchmark continues to sell the parts that keep their legacy devices looking as good as they sound. I didn't know what to expect from the DAC1 but I really like it. Does it sound different than other DACs? No. But it delivers the sound with authority, it really slaps hard. I'm looking forward to upgrading some day, but I dig this dac, dude."
