AHB2 - Bridged Mono or Stereo Mode?

Updated on

Bridged Mono Mode Delivers:

  • Almost 4 times the power
  • 6 dB higher output
  • The ability to use shorter speaker cables
  • Very loud playback capability (typically 116 dB SPL)

Stereo Mode is Better When:

  • Cost is an issue
  • Speakers are not rated for high power
  • Listening room is small
  • Loud playback (typically at 110 dB SPL) is more than enough

In Either Mode:

  • Noise will be 15 to 17 dB below the threshold of hearing
  • Amplifier THD+N will be below the threshold of hearing over the entire power range
  • Sound quality will be identical at every power level up to 100W
